This is Orwell's memoir on the theme of poverty in Paris and London. In Paris, Orwell describes his experiences living on the poverty line and doing menial labour for money. In London, he talks about living as a tramp, living in hostels and the strange array of characters he comes across.

Author's Biography

George Orwell (1903 – 1950) was a nickname Eric Arthur Blair used when writing his books. He was an author and journalist with strong writing talent. He was an advocate for democratic socialism. His books very wisely criticised social injustice, and totalitarianism.
