Theogony is a poem which uses epic verse-form. The Poem tells the origins of the world and of the gods (theogony), beginning with Chaos, Gaia, and Eros. The poem has embedded Greek myth and contains many parts of different tales, hinting these myths once might have existed in different forms in different cities.


Author's Biography
Hesiod was a Greek poet generally thought to have been lived between 750 and 650 BC. He is one of the few ancient Greeks whose works have reached our time.
